Frosting Jesus

With Christmas almost here, I thought this would be an appropriate time to post a picture that I like to call Frosting Jesus.

To make a long story short, my sister-in-law made two cakes for my niece’s first communion. My niece asked her mom if she would make a cross in the frosting, so my sister-in-law swiped some frosting into a cross on top of the cake. A few minutes later my brother walked by, glanced at the cake, and said, “Look, there’s Jesus on the cross.”

When my family arrived later, we were called over to see the cake. Before we were even told what happened, we spotted her accidental artwork in a 9×13 pan. So in honor of the Christmas season, I share with you… Frosting Jesus.

Frosting Jesus

My sister-in-law is not an artist or a confectionery. She’s just a busy mom who was getting ready for a party. We tried to discover bigger meaning in Frosting Jesus. Was it a sign? Was it a message from our deceased mom? Who knows?

And now you may be wondering whatever happened to Frosting Jesus? Did we eat him? No, we didn’t. She made two cakes and Frosting Jesus now lives in the freezer.

Happy Holidays!

This is also a great time of year to read my Christmas novella, Snowed Over, available everywhere e-books are sold.
