Anniversary Month

Two years ago, this month, I indie published Rock and a Hard Place. So many wonderful things have happened since then, including three more books. Readers found Rock and a Hard Place and made it a best seller. Today I am awaiting the book’s re-release by HarperCollins Teen. It will be officially out September 24th. It has a shiny new cover and has been polished up to make it even better.

So, please celebrate with me and enter to win one of five autographed books or one of ten e-books.

For those of you wondering what I’m working on next, I’m happy to share with you that my next book is titled Royally Lost. As of now, the release date isn’t until next fall, so you’ll have to be patient. And after that will be the third book in the Jamieson Collection. Readers will finally get to see what happens when Garrett Jamieson falls in love.

Love Locks, Love Stories & Prague

Last year I was in Prague and came across this bridge covered with locks. Our tour guide explained that they are called Love Locks. Of course, I knew immediately that I wanted to include Love Locks in my next book, which I affectionately refer to as my Royal book. It involves an American girl on vacation with her family to Europe, and you guessed it, she meets someone royal. That’s all I’ll say about that for now, but you can expect lots of teasers when the release grows near.

Love Locks in Prague

Here’s how it works. People write their names or initial on a lock, secure it to the railing and throw the key into the canal. The legend goes that if a lock is placed by two people in love, their love will be forever locked.

I’ve done a little bit of research on Love Locks, also referred to as Love Padlocks, and it turns out they appear in locations all over Europe. Some of the locations include Rome, Paris, Cologne, Florence and Dublin. In some cities there are great controversies over whether or not to remove them, as some  consider the myriad of locks an eye sore. But to me, they are a romantic gesture of love.Love Locks

So when that Royal books comes out, you can look forward to a romantic scene over the Vltava in Prague.

A Toast to 2012!

On the eve of the new year, I find myself with no dinner reservations, but still a lot to be thankful for.

Here are a few of the things I’m thankful for in my writing world from 2012:

Hitting a ranking of #50 of all Kindle books with Rock and a Hard Place, and hitting a rank of #19 of all Kindle Books with Love ‘em or Leave ‘em!

Traveled to the PASIC Conference in NYC where I met some wonderful, generous authors and learned a ton. Oh, and I saw six Broadway shows, too.

Jessica Slade, Angie Stanton, Jenna Black, Lynn Raye Harris and I can't recall the other two names. :(

Attented the RT Booklovers Convention in Chicago, met tons of readers and had the time of my life.

Enjoyed a close-knit group of writers who support me everyday and helped this solitary occupation seem more like sorority party.

Traveled to Minneapolis to meet up with some of my favorite writer buds: Tracey Garvis-Graves, Abbi Glines, Laura Bradley-Rede, EL James, Colleen Hoover and Tamarra Weber.
